Duties
- Greet customers with a genuine smile and assist them in selecting products that meet their needs
- Operate the POS (Point of Sale) system accurately for transactions, including cash handling and credit card processing
- Conduct product demos to educate customers about new or featured items, enhancing their shopping experience
- Maintain attractive merchandising displays and ensure shelves are stocked with popular products
- Upsell complementary items to increase sales and improve customer satisfaction
- Manage inventory by stocking shelves, organizing products, and conducting regular stock checks
- Provide exceptional customer service by answering questions, offering recommendations, and ensuring a positive shopping experience
- Follow proper phone etiquette when assisting customers over the phone or via online inquiries
- Assist in supervising team members when needed, supporting a collaborative retail environment
Experience
- Prior retail sales experience preferred, especially in smoke shops or grocery stores with similar product lines
- Supervising experience is a plus, demonstrating leadership skills and the ability to guide team members effectively
- Familiarity with POS systems, cash handling procedures, and basic retail math is essential
- Bilingual abilities are highly valued to serve diverse customer bases effectively
- Strong communication skills to engage customers confidently and clearly explain product features or promotions
- Experience conducting product demos and upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities
- Knowledge of merchandising standards and inventory management practices is advantageous
