Summary/Objective
The Forklift Operator plays an essential role in supporting production operations by safely and efficiently moving fruit bins, scanning and tracking bin tickets, and ensuring a smooth flow of product to the line. This position requires attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to identify and report issues that could affect production efficiency or product quality.
Essential Functions

1. Apply bin tickets accurately and ensure all bins are properly labeled.
2. Maintain accurate counts of bins and records of bin movements.
3. Operate a forklift safely to load, unload, transport, and high-stack bins in production and CA storage rooms.
4. Deliver supplies and materials to production areas and maintain adequate inventory levels.
5. Monitor inventory and report discrepancies or equipment issues promptly.
6. Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area while following all safety procedures and forklift operating guidelines.
7. Verify product tags and bin information to ensure accuracy during production changes.
8. Communicate effectively with production, warehouse, and maintenance personnel to support efficient operations.
9. Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Supervisory Responsibility
This position has no supervisory responsibilities.
Work Environment
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
Physical Demands
· Regularly sitting on a powered industrial truck
· Frequently lift up to 50 pounds and adjust body position to bend, stoop, stand, walk, turn, pivot, and stand for long periods of time
· Having a good sense of balance
· Having good eye-hand-foot coordination
· Ability to assess weights and judge distances and heights
· Ability to work in varying temperatures, depending upon season
Position Type/Expected Hours of Work
This is a Temporary hourly position. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand.
Required Education and Experience
· Forklift certification per OSHA standards
Preferred Education and Experience
· Basic computer skills
· Previous agricultural/warehouse experience.
