Responsibilities
- Safely operate tractor-trailers hauling container chassis to and from port terminals
- Transport containers locally between Port of Virginia terminals (VIG, PPCY, NIT) and designated delivery locations
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and DOT compliance
- Secure containers properly and verify load safety before transport
- Follow all port procedures and company safety policies
- Maintain accurate records of routes, loads, and driving hours
- Communicate with dispatch regarding load status and any operational issues
- Operate trucks with manual transmission when required
Requirements
- Valid CDL Class A license
- TWIC card required (to access port terminals)
- Experience hauling containers or port work preferred
- Experience driving tractor-trailers and chassis
- Ability to perform safety inspections and follow DOT regulations
- Clean driving record with no major violations in the last three years
- Strong work ethic and commitment to showing up to work consistently and on time
