Job Overview
The receptionist serves as the first point of contact with the children, families, staff and visitors of the Christian Learning Center. This position is responsible for creating a welcoming, Christ-centered environment while providing excellent customer service and administrative support. The receptionist plays a vital role in supporting the daily operations of the CLC and assisting the Director and Assistant Director, as needed.
Schedule
- 40 hours/week
- Schedule determined by the Director
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Reception & Customer Service
- Greet children, parents, staff and visitors in a friendly, professionally and a Christ-like manner.
- Answer and direct incoming calls, using proper phone etiquette to assist callers and direct inquiries efficiently.
- Respond to emails, messages and inquiries in a timely manner.
- Provide information regarding CLC programs, enrollment, policies and procedures.
- Maintain a welcoming, organized and professional front office area.
Administrative Responsibilities
- Assist with child check-in and check-out procedures
- Prepare copies, forms, newsletters, calnedars and parent communication.
- Maintain office supplies and notify management when inventory is low.
Communication & Family Relations
- Communicate effectively and professionally with parents and guardians.
- Relay messages accurately to teachers and administration.
- Assist in promoting CLC Events, programs and activities.
Operational Support
- Support Director and Assistant Director with daily office operations.
- Ensure all visitors follow CLC safety and security procedures.
- Assist with special events, parent meetings and center activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the administration.
Staff Meetings & CLC Programs
- Attend all required staff meetings and training sessions
- Participate in and and support CLC programs, family events, open house, graduation ceremonies, holiday programs, and other special activities as requested by the administration.
- Represent the Christian Learning Center in a positive and professional manner at all times.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Previous receptionist, administrative, customer service or other childcare experience preferred.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with computers, email and office software.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a servant-hearted attitude.
- Must successfully complete all required background checks.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit, walk, and move throughout the facility during the weekday.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to operate office equipment and communicate effectively with children, parents and staff.
