Job Summary
The role will report to the FSQA Supervisor and will conduct routine food safety and quality assurance inspections. The QA technician is responsible for ensuring that production is following FDA, SQF, FSMA regulations, the HACCP plan, good GMP’s and properly documenting any discrepancies. Additionally, the QA technician will evaluate finished products, conduct functional testing, oversee all pre-op & post-op inspection, oversee site audits, oversee site pest control programs, and support the QA Supervisor and Manager.
Activities & Responsibilities
- Conduct Pre-op & Post-op inspections as required
- Complete scheduled site audits and provide a written report on all observations
- Verify lot number accuracy by comparing ingredients and packaging to production batch records
- Perform verification procedures for control points such as check weights, date codes and labeling
- Perform verification procedures for critical control points for metal detection, bar codes, temperature and water activity
- Oversee sampling of finished products to determine compliance to specifications
- Accurately perform calibrations of process testing equipment per standard requirements and verify the functional operation of all process test equipment
- Conduct daily GMP/Food Safety inspections in production areas, warehouse, dishwashing locations
- Responsible for documenting GMP violations and assuring personnel follow GMPs and good hygiene practices
- Responsible for performing in-process and final product quality testing for weight conformance, sensory and other associated basic analytical methods
- Responsible for collecting finished product retention, external laboratory and shelf-life samples according to set testing and sampling frequencies
- Document and file retain logs and foreign material deviations. Control hard documents for quality assurance, sanitation and operations.
- Perform environmental sampling using aseptic techniques.
- Oversee the site Pest Control Program
- Provide food safety and quality training and education to all site employees, including all quality related onboard training for new employees
- Complete all required annual training.
- Interact with operations to assist in identifying quality issues.
- Responsible for communicating food quality and food safety issues to QA Manager and Operations Management in a timely manner
- Input data into computer databases
- Oversee Document Control program, including maintaining QA hard copy and digital document files
- Comply with company policies and procedures.
- Personal responsibility for following safety rules and GMP guidelines.
- Maintain all SQF Food Safety and Defence requirements.

Compensation & Benefits
Compensation will be commensurate with education/experience and our Company’s size – with the pay range between $21.00-$24.00/hr.
