Job description:OVERVIEW
The Laborer plays a critical role in supporting underground fiber construction operations, assisting HDD crews, aerial crews, and general field teams in the safe and efficient installation of conduit and fiber infrastructure. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to safety, quality, and production standards.
KEY ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Field Support & Construction Activities
Assist HDD Operators, Locators, and crew members with daily job site tasks.
Perform general labor duties including digging, trenching, hand hole placement, and job site preparation.
Load and unload materials, tools, and equipment as needed.
Support conduit placement, fiber installation, and restoration activities.
Maintain clean and organized job sites throughout the duration of the project.
Equipment & Safety
Follow all company safety policies and OSHA regulations at all times.
Participate in daily job briefings and safety meetings.
Properly use and maintain hand tools, power tools, and safety equipment.
Identify and report unsafe conditions immediately.
Assist with traffic control setup and maintenance when required.
Teamwork & Production Support
Work closely with crew members to ensure projects stay on schedule.
Take direction from Foreman, Operators, and Supervisors to complete assigned tasks efficiently.
Support production goals while maintaining quality standards.
Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and a strong team-first mindset.
IDEAL BACKGROUND & QUALIFICATIONS
Previous experience in construction, telecom, utility, or outdoor labor preferred but not required.
Ability to perform physically demanding work in various weather conditions.
Willingness to learn and grow within the telecommunications construction industry.
Valid driver’s license preferred.
Strong work ethic, positive attitude, and ability to work in a team environment.
