Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Hostess/Cashier, where you will be the welcoming face and efficient coordinator for our restaurant. This role combines guest relations with cashier responsibilities, providing an engaging environment where hospitality and customer service shine. You will manage reservations, assist guests with seating, handle transactions seamlessly, and support overall restaurant operations to deliver an exceptional dining experience.
Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage waitlists to ensure timely seating
- Handle restaurant reservation management using POS systems such as Square, Toast or Clover
- Coordinate with the dining team to optimize table management and guest flow
- Process all transactions accurately using POS systems, including cash, credit, and digital payments
- Maintain clear communication with guests via phone, demonstrating excellent phone etiquette and communication skills
- Assist with guest inquiries regarding menu items, wait times, and restaurant policies
- Uphold food safety standards and ensure cleanliness in cashier stations and guest areas
- Support host/hostess duties by managing guest relations, addressing concerns promptly, and ensuring guest satisfaction
Qualifications
- Previous experience as a host/hostess or cashier in a restaurant or food service environment preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask efficiently during busy periods
- Excellent communication skills and a friendly, professional demeanor
- Familiarity with restaurant table management systems and POS systems preferred
- Basic math skills for handling cash transactions accurately
- Experience in guest services, hospitality, or hotel environments is a plus
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper serving procedures

Pay: $11.50 - $13.00 per hour
