Associate Clinician (AMFT/APCC)
The Company | Why Wellspring?
Wellspring Psychological Services, Inc. is a well-established group practice dedicated to providing exceptional mental health care while making a meaningful impact throughout our community. We believe quality care should be accessible to everyone, regardless of circumstance, and we are committed to reducing barriers to treatment while maintaining the highest standards of clinical excellence.
Our practice serves a diverse population across the lifespan and values curiosity, collaboration, cultural humility, and compassionate care. We are equally committed to the well-being of our clinicians, fostering an environment that supports professional growth, authentic connection, and sustainable work-life balance.
Our philosophy is simple: When we invest in developing exceptional clinicians, our clients, our community, and our profession all benefit.
Position Overview
We are seeking a full-time Associate Clinician (AMFT or APCC) who is actively working toward licensure and has at least one year of experience managing a caseload of approximately 25 clients or more.
This position is ideal for someone seeking more than a place to accrue hours. We are looking for clinicians who are excited to grow their clinical expertise, contribute to a collaborative team, and build a meaningful, long-term career.
This hybrid position is based in Monterey, California, and includes some in-person, evening, and/or weekend availability to meet the needs of our community. Preference will be given to bilingual and bicultural applicants. Schedules are collaboratively created to enhance work/life balance.
At Wellspring, we believe exceptional clinicians are developed intentionally, not simply through experience, but through mentorship, curiosity, reflection, and a commitment to lifelong learning.
Clinical Supervision & Professional Development
Supervision at Wellspring is more than a licensure requirement—it is one of the foundations of our practice.
As an Associate Clinician, you will receive:
- Weekly individual supervision with experienced licensed clinicians.
- Group supervision and case consultation with a collaborative multidisciplinary team.
- Triadic supervision that incorporates both depth-oriented exploration and solution-focused consultation, helping you develop both clinical insight and practical therapeutic skills.
- Ongoing support with case conceptualization, diagnosis, treatment planning, documentation, and ethical decision-making.
- A culture where questions are encouraged, consultation is valued, and learning is part of everyday practice.
Learn More Than Clinical Skills
One of the unique advantages of Wellspring is the opportunity to learn how a thriving private practice operates.
Associates gain experience with:
- Building and maintaining a healthy caseload.
- Client engagement and retention.
- Professional communication and responsiveness.
- Documentation and clinical workflows.
- Insurance and billing processes.
- Ethical business practices.
- Private practice systems and operations.
- Working collaboratively within an interdisciplinary group practice.
While Wellspring manages the administrative foundation - including marketing, referral generation, credentialing, billing, scheduling platforms, and practice operations - we also believe clinicians play an active role in building a successful practice by being engaged, responsive, available, and committed to serving the needs of our community.
We don't simply help clinicians earn licensure. We cultivate thoughtful therapists, ethical professionals, and future leaders who will strengthen our profession and the communities they serve.
