Crust Artisan Bakery is a local artisan bakery in Burbank specializing in freshly baked breads, croissants, pastries, cakes, breakfast items, sandwiches, paninis, and other handcrafted products.

Position Summary
We are hiring full-time and part-time Front of House Sales Associates.
This is a customer-facing sales and service position. The right candidate will be comfortable starting conversations, explaining our products, making recommendations, and helping customers discover additional items they may enjoy.
We need someone who is positive, outgoing, responsible, and able to communicate professionally with customers and coworkers. You must also be able to think quickly, solve problems, and remain calm and organized during busy periods.
Training will be provided. Previous experience using the Toast POS system is a plus but is not required.
Weekend availability is mandatory.
Responsibilities
- Greet every customer warmly and provide attentive service
- Learn our menu and confidently explain our products
- Answer questions about pastries, breads, cakes, sandwiches, and other menu items
- Make personalized recommendations based on customer preferences
- Actively sell and upsell products in a friendly, natural manner
- Accurately take and enter orders using the Toast POS system
- Process cash, credit card, and digital payments
- Package pastries, breads, sandwiches, and takeout orders
- Prepare and organize customer pickup orders
- Manage orders from third-party delivery platforms
- Answer customer phone calls professionally
- Help resolve customer questions or concerns
- Communicate clearly with the kitchen and bakery teams
- Keep pastry displays attractive, organized, and properly stocked
- Restock beverages, packaging, and front-counter supplies
- Maintain a clean and organized counter, dining area, and work environment
- Complete assigned opening and closing responsibilities
- Follow all food-safety, sanitation, and company procedures
- Take initiative and assist the team wherever needed

- Weekend availability is required
Previous bakery, café, restaurant, retail, or customer-service experience is preferred but not required.
Experience with Toast POS is a plus, but we are willing to train the right person.
Schedule and Availability
- Full-time and part-time positions are available
- Shifts are approximately 8–10 hours
- Opening, daytime, evening, and closing shifts may be scheduled
- Weekend availability is mandatory
- Holiday availability may occasionally be required

Compensation
- Starting pay: $17.00 per hour
- This is a nonexempt, overtime-eligible position
- Overtime will be paid in accordance with California law
- A 10-hour shift will generally include 8 regular hours and 2 overtime hours
Training and Start Date
Training is expected to begin toward the end of next week. Applicants should be available to begin promptly and attend all assigned training shifts.
