Growing import company seeks organized, detail-oriented individual to join our team as Logistics Manager. The logistics team is responsible for contacting couriers to provide shipping information, negotiating courier fees on behalf of clients, and tracking shipments. To be successful, you must have strong management skills, excellent attention to detail and be able to successfully multitask daily.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Manage and direct a team of employees on key priorities and day-to-day functions.
- Provide guidance and train direct reports on procedures, polices and best practices.
- Communicate with clients and shippers.
- Manage the shipment of 150 orders a day and 50 truck order which can range from a half pallet to a truckload mostly in USA, Canada and Mexico but also some international destinations like Japan and South Korea.
- Manage the rating of shipments for the sales group.
- Manage the rating of shipments for the purchasing group (mostly domestic trucking).
- Manage the creation of logistics related documents like bill of ladings, packing slips, shipping labels, product labels.
- Manage the scheduling of pick-up and delivery.
- Negotiate shipping rates with trucking companies.
- Manage customer service issues related to logistics.
- Manage logistics related claims.
- Consistently strive to improve efficiency and automation of the group.
- All other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- ·Bachelor’s degree in business management, logistics or related field (Preferred).
- Atleast 5 years of relevant work experience.
- Strong management and communication skills.
- Ability to prioritize, multi-task and manage time effectively.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
