Per Diem Attorney — Court & Deposition Coverage (NY / NJ)
Job Summary
CourtGigs is seeking experienced per diem attorneys to provide of-counsel representation at court appearances, depositions, and other legal proceedings throughout New York and New Jersey. This is a flexible, appearance-by-appearance arrangement that lets you build your own schedule around your existing commitments — ideal for solo practitioners and attorneys looking to supplement their income while maintaining work–life balance.
Applicants must be admitted to practice in New York and/or New Jersey and in good standing, with at least 3 years of post-admission experience appearing in court.

What You'll Do
- Appear on behalf of our attorney clients, providing of-counsel representation across a wide range of proceedings.
- Cover appearances in the Supreme, Civil, Surrogate's, Housing, Foreclosure, Family, and Criminal courts, among others.
- Handle appearance types including conferences, motions, hearings, depositions, EUOs, 50-H hearings, independent medical examinations, real estate closings, and arbitrations.
- Work across practice areas including Personal Injury, No-Fault, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Commercial Litigation, Real Estate, Malpractice, Immigration, Surrogate's, Family/Matrimonial, and Criminal law.
- Use our easy-to-use online portal to build a personalized schedule based on your availability, areas of expertise, and preferred coverage areas.
Requirements
- Admitted to practice law and in good standing in New York and/or New Jersey.
- At least 3 years of post-admission experience appearing in court and/or on depositions (required).
- Experience handling 50+ court appearances (required).
- Experience conducting or defending 20+ depositions (strongly preferred).
- Ability to appear in person for court appearances, depositions, and other proceedings.
- Availability to appear on a regular basis (preferred).
