We are seeking a caring and attentive Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to provide one-to-one care for a student in an elementary school setting. This role includes accompanying the student on the school bus and providing clinical care, safety monitoring, and daily assistance throughout the school day.
Student Overview:
The student is a female student with cerebral palsy, epilepsy, prematurity, anoxic brain injury, developmental delay, chronic lung disease/asthma, and G-J tube dependence. She has limited mobility and requires total assistance with feeding, hygiene, positioning, mobility, respiratory care, and all ADLs.
Transportation:
Bus ride-along required to and from school.
Responsibilities:
- Provide continuous one-to-one nursing care at school and during bus transportation.
- Manage G-J tube care and physician-ordered feedings while maintaining aspiration precautions.
- Provide respiratory care, including secretion monitoring, nebulizer treatments, and inhaler support as ordered.
- Closely monitor for seizure activity and follow the student-specific seizure response plan.
- Assist with positioning, mobility, hygiene, toileting, and all activities of daily living.
- Maintain strict latex and natural-rubber allergy precautions throughout care.
- Maintain accurate nursing documentation and communicate with school staff, the family, and the clinical team as needed.
