As a Digital Press Operator, you’ll support Hal Leonard’s mission by operating digital presses to produce a high-quality print product. You'll work in a clean, temperature-controlled environment, alongside knowledgeable, helpful team members.

Primary Function:
Produce covers and pages for music books by setting up, monitoring, and running print jobs on various digital press machines.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate digital presses and support systems: (1) Load scheduled job into press., (2) Load and unload paper. (3) Adjust press to job parameters and specifications. (4) Collect & inspect random samples during print run to proactively identify necessary adjustments.
- Operate small bindery finishing equipment, such as cutters, binders, and more.
- Consistently maintain equipment to provide consistent color output by cleaning, testing, and calibrating equipment.
- Monitor and maintain system operation to minimize waste and downtime.
- Follow safety rules to avoid injury to self or others.
- Regular attendance is an essential function of this position.
Knowledge and Skills:
- Mechanical aptitude or experience operating machines.
- Knowledge of production processes and quality controls.
- Verbal communication skills
- Read and understand written information.
- Multitask in a fast-paced printing environment.
- Attention to detail, especially with numbers.
- Ability to distinguish color.
- Preferred: High School Diploma or equivalent
Marginal Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assists the department in additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
- Keep work area clean and safe.
Working Relationships:
- Work with Team Leads, Supervisors, and Managers to obtain guidance on projects & priorities.
- Work with cross-functional teams throughout Hal Leonard LLC to perform the duties and responsibilities outlined.

Manual Dexterity:
Repeatedly required to walk, bend, reach, twist, turn and stand in one place for extended periods of time. Use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch; talk, hear, and see/distinguish color.
Machines or Equipment Operated:
Digital presses (computer application-based system), forklift, power dollies, hand dollies, thermal binder, folder, stitcher, and paper cutter.
Physical Effort:
Lift and/or lower items weighing up to 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the day. Load & unload paper and product to machines and stack on pallets and related over a period of 8 hours. Position is on their feet full 8-hours.
Working Conditions
Standard production environment. The noise level can be loud depending on machines and equipment actively running.
