The IT / Terminal Technician is responsible for preparing and maintaining betting equipment for daily racing events at Saratoga Race Course. In this role, you will connect equipment and ensure ticket paper is adequately stocked on all betting lines. You will work on a team to provide excellent customer service, ensuring a positive experience for all guests.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Prepare and maintain betting equipment to support race day operations.
- Set-up and disconnect equipment as needed throughout the venue.
- Stock ticket paper on all betting lines to ensure uninterrupted wagering.
- Perform minor repairs on terminal components and test them for proper functionality.
- Troubleshoot terminals to address operational issues quickly and efficiently.
- Answer basic questions from customers wishing to utilize machines to place wagers.
- Perform other duties as required.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Demonstrate initiative as a self-starter.
- Communicate politely and effectively with guests.
- Learn different types of wagers and related terminology.
- Be willing to work weekends and holidays.
- Maintain a professional appearance at all times.
- Familiarity with horse racing is a plus but not required for the position.
- Able to walk and troubleshoot equipment throughout the grounds in all types of weather.
- Must be 18 years of age or older and willing to obtain a NYS Gaming Commission license (assistance and reimbursement provided).
