Overview
We are seeking a dedicated General Practitioner (MD) to join our healthcare and clinical research team. The selected candidate will provide high-quality patient care in an outpatient setting while supporting clinical trial activities conducted in collaboration with pharmaceutical sponsors and clinical research staff. This position offers the opportunity to work in a dynamic healthcare environment, contributing to patient care while supporting the successful conduct and advancement of clinical research studies.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive patient evaluations including medical history and physical examinations
- Diagnose and manage patients in an outpatient clinical setting
- Conduct follow-up visits and ongoing patient monitoring
- Admit patients and coordinate care with hospital teams when required
- Document patient encounters accurately using Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
- Collaborate with physicians, research coordinators, and clinical staff to ensure optimal patient care
- Support clinical research activities and assist with the implementation of research protocols when applicable
- Ensure compliance with clinical standards, research protocols, and regulatory requirements
- Provide patient education regarding treatment plans, medications, and preventive care
- Maintain accurate and timely medical documentation
- Participate in occasional weekend hospital visits when necessary
Qualifications
Required
- Doctor of Medicine (MD) degree from an accredited medical school
- Active Medical License in Puerto Rico
- Active NPI (National Provider Identifier)
- Completion of internship / internado training
- Experience providing direct patient care in outpatient or clinical settings
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems
- Strong clinical judgment and commitment to patient-centered care
Preferred
- Experience or familiarity with clinical research or clinical trials
- Knowledge of Good Clinical Practice (GCP) guidelines
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary healthcare team
