Local Contractor Seeking Fire Alarm Technician:
Seeking an experienced Fire Alarm Technician with the ability to read blueprints and site maps. Must have a current valid state-required Fire Card, NICET certification a plus. OSHA 10 required, OSHA 30 a plus. Knowledgeable of NFPA standards, including NFPA 70 and 72.
Experience with installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting security systems, access control systems, and CCTV is a plus. Must possess excellent customer service and communication skills both verbal and written. Have basic telecommunication / fire alarm hand tools. Hold a valid driver's license with a clean driving record; no DUI in the last three years.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Install, repair, or upgrade fire alarm systems including programming of control panels for fire alarm systems with the guidance of building plans and electrical layouts.
- Able to create job schedules based upon job types and estimations of installation timelines for assigned work.
- Mount devices at appropriate locations, performing all necessary tasks, such as drilling holes for cabling and accessing locations such as crawlspaces or attics.
- Run low voltage cabling in commercial buildings, including drilling concrete walls and limited conduit work.
- Complete all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that fire alarm systems are in compliance with electrical and fire codes.
- Tests to ensure all newly installed systems and component devices are operational.
- Commission / troubleshoot system installations to ensure the proper functioning and to ensure the system meets local, county, state, or federal codes; legal and/or insurance requirements.

Pay: $25.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 – 50 per week
