Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipping Clerk to join our logistics team. In this role, you will be responsible for coordinating and executing the shipping and receiving processes to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products. The ideal candidate will possess strong organizational skills, familiarity with warehouse management systems, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and customer service. This position plays a vital role in supporting efficient warehouse operations, inventory management, and compliance with shipping regulations.
Responsibilities
- Prepare shipments by selecting appropriate packaging materials, labeling packages accurately, and ensuring proper documentation.
- Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, and RF scanners to load and unload goods efficiently.
- Use inventory management software and ERP systems to track stock levels, update records, and manage order fulfillment.
- Coordinate with warehouse staff to pick, pack, and process orders accurately using order picking techniques and data entry tools.
- Ensure compliance with international trade regulations and trade compliance standards during shipping processes.
- Manage shipping logistics by scheduling pickups, preparing customs documentation, and tracking shipments to ensure timely delivery.
- Maintain accurate records of all shipping and receiving activities within Warehouse Management System (WMS) or AS400 platforms.
- Assist in stock replenishment by stocking shelves, organizing inventory, and conducting regular inventory counts.
- Collaborate with customer service teams to resolve shipping issues promptly and provide updates on order status.
- Support warehouse distribution efforts by optimizing load & unload procedures, ensuring safety protocols are followed.
Experience
- Prior experience working in warehouse operations or logistics environments is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory management software, ERP systems such as AS400 or MRPs.
- Proven ability to handle shipping & receiving tasks efficiently using RF scanners, pallet jacks, forklifts, and other warehouse equipment.
- Basic math skills for calculating weights, measurements, and quantities accurately.
- Strong knowledge of shipping logistics, order fulfillment processes, and international trade regulations.
- Excellent data entry skills combined with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Demonstrated customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively across diverse teams.
- Previous experience with stocking, packaging, order picking & packing is advantageous.
