WORK SCHEDULE:
- This position follows a rotating schedule of five workdays per week. Scheduled workdays may fall on any day from Monday through Sunday and will include weekend shifts.
- Regular working hours are generally from 8:00 PM to 4:00 AM. Depending on business needs, start and end times may be adjusted by up to one hour earlier or later.
- Workdays, hours, and shift assignments may be modified based on business and operational needs. Strong adaptability and scheduling flexibility are essential for this position.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Process samples for Sanger and Nanopore sequencing projects while maintaining speed, accuracy, and reliability.
- Accurately document all experimental procedures, results, and deviations.
- Promptly identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues to meet project turnaround times.
- Communicate with customers regarding project requirements and sequencing results.
- Collaborate closely with team members to ensure smooth daily operations and overall team success.
- Proactively learn new skills to support the continued growth of the team and company.
- Consistently follow all laboratory safety procedures and compliance standards.
- Maintain the flexibility to work overnight, weekend, and adjusted shifts as required.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the line manager.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology or a related field.
- Previous experience in a molecular biology or genomics laboratory is preferred but not required.
- Training will be provided to motivated candidates with strong foundational knowledge and a willingness to learn.
SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Technical Skills
- Basic understanding of DNA sequencing technologies and laboratory techniques.
- Comfortable using pipettes and handling reagents and biological samples in accordance with laboratory procedures.
- Experience maintaining laboratory records and entering data using spreadsheets
- Professional Qualifications
- Dependable and proactive, particularly when working independently or as part of a small night-shift team.
- Detail-oriented, with a strong commitment to accuracy and consistency.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
- Willingness to learn and contribute to continuous process improvement and innovation.
WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
- Reports to the Sequencing Production Manager.
- Works closely with the DNA Sequencing Team, Project Manager, and cross-functional teams, including Quality Control and Logistics.
Pay: $55,000.00 - $56,000.00 per year
