Job Summary
Under general supervision, performs a variety of clerical and related duties and responsibilities which support the provision of patient care in the hospital.
Qualifications
Education
- Required
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent
Experience:
- Required for all
- Completion of on-the-job training in Central Monitoring
- Central Monitoring Sitter
- Video sitter can perform the primary duties of the position in Central Monitoring that they were hired to fill as a general sitter and 1:1 sitter with patient daily with minimal supervision
- Central Monitoring Tech I
- Tech can perform in telemetry monitoring only. Must complete Dysrhythmia Course within 3 months of hire
- Central Monitoring Tech II
- Tech can perform both the duties of the video sitter and monitor tech. Ability to sit 1:1 with patients. Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Course.
- Central Monitoring Tech Lead
- Lead can perform the duties and fulfill educational/certification requirements of the Central Monitoring Tech II. Acts as a Team Lead while on duty.
Certification/Licensure:
- Central Monitoring Sitter
- Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
- Central Monitoring Tech I
- Required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
- Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
- Successful completion of Dysrhythmia Course or passing of challenge exam
- Must obtain within ninety (90) days of start date
- Central Monitoring Tech II & Central Monitoring Lead
