Responsibilities
- Prepare ingredients by washing, chopping, slicing, and measuring according to recipes and standards
- Assist in assembling dishes during meal service, ensuring timely and accurate presentation
- Follow food safety protocols and maintain cleanliness of workstations to ensure a hygienic environment
- Support the kitchen team with food handling, storage, and inventory management
- Help with menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for upcoming meals or special events
- Maintain proper knife skills for efficient and safe food preparation
- Assist with catering events or large-scale meal preparations as needed
Skills
- Prior experience in dietary departments or as a dietary aide is highly desirable
- Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and food handling safety practices
- Experience in restaurant or food service environments demonstrating excellent customer service skills
- Proficiency in kitchen operations including meal preparation, food safety standards, and sanitation procedures
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and work efficiently under pressure
- Knowledge of menu planning and catering processes is a plus
- Excellent knife skills and familiarity with various cooking methods are preferred
