Job Summary
EPC is seeking a dependable and skilled maintenance technician to support our plastic manufacturing operations. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems to ensure safe, efficient, and continuous operation. You will play a key role in minimizing downtime by performing preventative maintenance, diagnosing mechanical and electrical issues, and supporting overall plant performance in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Duties
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance on plastic manufacturing equipment, including injection molding machines, extrusion systems, and auxiliary equipment.
- Maintain and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems to ensure uninterrupted production.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues using schematics, manuals, and diagnostic tools to identify and resolve root causes.
- Install, calibrate, and upgrade production machinery, HVAC systems, and facility equipment as needed.
- Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns and maintenance requests to minimize downtime and maintain production schedules.
- Maintain accurate documentation of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections for compliance and operational tracking.
- Assist with equipment installations, plant upgrades, and process improvements while adhering to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with production teams to optimize equipment performance and improve operational efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude with experience in manufacturing or industrial maintenance, preferably in plastics processing.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting and repairing injection molding, extrusion, or similar production equipment is highly preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and PLC-controlled systems.
- Experience with HVAC and facility maintenance systems is a plus.
- Familiarity with maintenance, repair, and operations (MRO) practices in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced setting.
- Team-oriented mindset with the ability to support and guide less experienced technicians when needed.
