The City of Fond du Lac, Wisconsin, is a beautiful and thriving community of 44,678 located at the foot of Lake Winnebago. In addition, Fond du Lac is only an hour away from Green Bay, Milwaukee, and Madison and all those communities have to offer. We are seeking candidates for a full-time Library Facilities Specialist. Scheduled hours are 40/week (Monday – Friday) and other hours as needed to conduct services at the Library.
The position reports directly to the Library Assistant Director and is under general supervision to manage and maintain a safe, clean, and inviting atmosphere of all Library buildings and grounds, whether owned or rented. The Facilities Specialist is responsible for the daily operations of custodial, maintenance, and contracted services, to meet the needs of the Library.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but not limited to:
· Maintains and repairs building systems
· Procures and manages services from outside vendors
· Cleans interior and maintains exterior Library grounds
· Transports materials, moves furniture, and completes other building requests as needed
Minimum Training & Experience:
· High school diploma or GED; supplemental vocational coursework, licenses, or certificates preferred
· Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License
· 3-5 years in building maintenance or custodial work
Special Requirements:
· Experience in the operation and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, elevators, and general building maintenance.
· Demonstrated ability to maintain computerized building system controls and energy management systems.
· Skill and ability to make satisfactory minor repairs to buildings and equipment.
· Ability to interpret schematics, manuals and drawings relating to library building systems, structure, equipment and furniture.
· Ability to analyze maintenance problems.
· Working knowledge of hand tools, power equipment, and proven mechanical ability.
· Knowledge and use of commercial cleaning products, methods, and procedures.
· Working knowledge of occupational hazards, OSHA and ADA standards, and safe work practices.
· Ability to organize supplies, track inventory, manage expenditures, and meet deadlines.
· Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
· Ability to complete work with speed and accuracy while handling frequent, sudden task changes effectively.
· Working knowledge of email and Microsoft office.
· Ability to communicate effectively and to establish and maintain good working relationships with other Library staff, City Departments, the public, and vendors.
Pay: $23.88 - $27.93 per hour
