Overview

We are seeking motivated and enthusiastic Retail Sales Associates to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the face of our brand, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for our customers. You will engage with customers, assist them in finding products, and contribute to the overall success of the store through effective sales techniques and inventory management.
The role requires a flexible, on-demand professional who covers shifts, staff absences, or unexpected vacancies across multiple locations. The role demands high adaptability, reliability, and the ability to seamlessly step into various roles on short notice. Act as critical backup for daily operations, ensuring business continuity during employee sick leaves, vacations, or surges in workload. You will be responsible for traveling to various locations and shifts within the assigned district to perform essential duties as needed.

Responsibilities

Provide outstanding customer service by greeting and assisting customers in a friendly manner.
Communicate product knowledge effectively to help customers make informed purchasing decisions.
Engage in upselling techniques to enhance the customer shopping experience and increase sales.
Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system accurately for transactions and returns.
Cash Control, including shift drawer count in/out and daily store reconciliation and bank deposits based on position coverage/
Maintain an organized and visually appealing sales floor by stocking shelves, arranging displays, and ensuring products are readily available.
Assist with inventory management, including receiving shipments, conducting stock checks, and managing product displays.
Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Maintain cleanliness inside and outside of store
Display a positive attitude and promote teamwork
Exhibit professionalism in appearance and conduct

Adaptability:

Fill in for absent staff or assist with special projects across multiple locations.
Remain reachable and ready to accept shifts, often on short notice, according to the agreed-on schedule, which will include 2-3 scheduled shifts.
Transition between different teams and environments smoothly
Promptly respond to all phone calls regarding shift requests and supervisor expectations.
Open availability to work varied shifts, potentially including early mornings, nights, weekends, or holidays.

Compensation:

$15.50-$16.50 / Hour

Benefits: (Fulltime Eligible Employees 30+ hrs Avg)

Requirements:

Job Skills/Licenses/Certifiations:

Previous experience in retail sales or customer service is preferred.
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with customers.
Strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to adapt to new environments and procedures rapidly.
Familiarity with retail math concepts to assist in inventory management and sales reporting.
Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required by store operations
Reliable.
A proactive attitude towards upselling and promoting store promotions or events.
Comfortable multi-tasking and adapt easily to change.
Ability to work alone, including opening or closing the store.
Basic knowledge of POS systems is a plus but not mandatory; training will be provided.
Ability to commute to other stores within a 30 mile radius.
Valid driver’s license and reliable personal transportation with active auto insurance to commute to various locations.

Ability to successfully complete state tobacco and alcohol selling certifications

Education:

High school diploma/ GED (required)
1 year of customer service experience (preferred)
Must be able to pass the required certifications for Selling Alcohol and Tobacco within the allotted attempts
Must complete the Smokin' Joe's Associate New Hire Training Program
