The role of Field Agent/Transporter - FOH Sales Representative will be responsible for representing Steep Hill Illinois as a field sampling agent , and representing the business in front of clients. The ability to travel up to 5 hours at a time via motor vehicle (provided), while also providing a high level of service and hospitality are essential attributes for this role. The applicant will report to the Client Services Director and CEO/Owner, and will have experience answering basic sales inquiries, relaying messages, and executing basic client requests and visits.
The Field Agent/Transporter - FOH Sales Representative is responsible for compliant customer conduct; transport of lab testing sample packages from clients to the lab, intake/creation of clients and sample packages, logging sample packages into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS), chain of custody for sample packages taken, and maintaining client records. The Field Agent/Transporter - FOH Sales Representative will be expected to work with attention to detail, schedule flexibility, organization, and professionalism.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
● Perform sample pickup, travel to clients, transport samples back to laboratory within regulations.
● Travel safely to client facilities and safely back to the testing laboratory.
● Provide amazing customer interaction and support.
● Intake samples, populate LIMs systems, photograph samples and other ad hoc needs
● Adhere to sample intake policies and procedures (SOPs)
● Manage chain of custody for each sample.
● Perform a variety of clerical tasks that include maintaining spreadsheets, managing and organizing customer records, managing shipments and communication with peers.
● Keep intake area organized, clean and with a professional appearance.
● Help support sales and marketing development, as needed.
● Actively listen to customers’ needs, advise and educate customer on test methods that best suit their needs.
● Perform other duties and assume other responsibilities as apparent or as delegated.
● Receive sample packages in State Traceability System and verify packages in LIMS.
● Respect and maintain the confidentiality of clients that utilize testing services.
● Ability to provide support and integrate seamlessly with Lab Director and chemists.
● Personal drive and commitment to ongoing improvement of the Customer Experience.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED : Valid and clean license/driving record. Ability to travel up to 5 hours at a time in the car.
REQUIRED : Experience in customer service/hospitality OR business to business sales experience.
●Preferred candidate will have two years at a IDOA/IDPH/IDFPR cannabis business.
● Minimum high school diploma.
● Experience in field driving preferred.
● Ability to maintain a helpful disposition during complex customer interactions.
● Curiosity and interest in the science of cannabis - a plus.
● Creative, analytical problem-solver who can cooperatively work effectively with colleagues.
● Understand and follow verbal and written instructions; works independently in the absence of supervision.
● Proficiency with Microsoft Office suite (Work, Excel) and GSuite (primarily Google Sheets & Google Docs)
● Effective communication skills (both verbal and written command) with excellent computer, typing, and organizational abilities.
● Ability to work in a fast-paced setting, multitask, prioritize and manage assignments.
● Comfortable making mathematical calculations and being accountable for cash transactions.
● Establish and maintain effective working relationships with clients.

● Willingness to work occasional weekends and after-hours for business meetings, trade shows, events and presentations.
