Position Summary:
The Field Technician is responsible for the safe and efficient execution of on-site projects, equipment installation, maintenance, and testing. Key responsibilities include meticulous documentation, adherence to safety and design specifications, effective communication with supervisors and clients, and the proactive maintenance of company assets. This position requires adaptability to varying work schedules, including potential travel.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Technical Project Execution & Quality Assurance
- Responsible for reading and knowing design documents for each particular project
- Knowing and understanding what tools are used for and the appropriate use of tools
- Installing equipment specified in design and engineered drawings specific to what is called out for in design drawings
- If discrepancies exist between onsite conditions and design drawings, report to the Supervisor immediately for determination in the next step
- Responsible for taking dimensions in the field of equipment installed or equipment needed to be replaced
- Responsible for knowing testing procedures set forth by Lynn Safety
- If discrepancies exist between projects design drawings and Lynn Safety procedures, report discrepancy to Project Coordinator immediately
- If uncertain about the load test procedure, contact Upper Management immediately
- Load Testing of equipment installed, existing equipment, and special load testing projects
- Load testing can be of horizontal pull, gravity testing, vertical testing, etc.
- If the equipment does not pass the test, report to Project Coordinator immediately for the next step in continuing the testing or stop work
- Function testing all equipment on projects to make certain all is functioning as designed
- Operating Platforms as required/needed
- Inspections on EBM equipment as instructed/scheduled by Dispatcher & Annual Inspection Coordinator
- Walk the job with the Supervisor and Project Coordinator when requested
- Following Supervisor instructions for each project
Documentation & Communication
- Responsible for keeping good notes on provided roof plans that are clear and legible
- Must initial or sign next to notes
- Must make notes on any changes from the design drawings that occur on site and report to Project Coordinator the same day.
- Responsible for filling out Incident Report for lost or damages of Lynn Safety property or customer property and submitting to Admin Assistant
- Turning in job tickets to Admin Assistant the day of completion of that project
- Job tickets are to be turned in the day of completion for that project/task
- Responsible for filling out Annual Inspection Forms while on site during the Inspection being performed
- Gather information and reporting to Project Coordinator or Supervisor on projects as requested/scheduled
- Responsible for taking photos each day while on site
- Responsible for filling out tracking receipts if one has not been provided when delivering or removing equipment from a client’s building
- Responsible for filling out Load Test Records as test is performed for each piece of equipment tested
- Reporting to Project Coordinator any issues that arise
- Filling out Request forms for any tools or items needed for work and submitting to Supervisor
- Reporting to Project Coordinator and Supervisor as to the status of a project when requested
- Communicating to clients as to the status of a project if directed to do so by Project Coordinator or Supervisor
Operational Support & Compliance
- Report to the warehouse as requested
- Knowing Lynn Safety’s “RULES FOR ALL FIELD TECHNICIANS”
- Delivery & Pickups as scheduled/determined by Supervisor
- Responsible for taking care of company property such as tools, radios, tool bags, etc.
- If proper care is not taken of company property, appropriate actions will be taken
- Responsible for reporting damaged tools or property to Supervisor
- Assisting the Supervisor and Project Coordinator in keeping the warehouse clean
- Side tasks as requested by Supervisor, Operations Manager, Project Coordinators
- Assistance in emergency rescue when required
- Loading and unloading vehicles at completion or beginning of work
- Making sure all trucks are stocked with tools or equipment needed for each project
- Checklists for each type of project have been provided to assist with what tools or materials/equipment are needed for each specific type
- Performing work within the time required
- If additional time is required, report to the Supervisor
- While most of your full-time work schedule will normally consist of the same shift each day, in some cases, shifts can vary, nighttime work including but not limited to afternoon and graveyard shifts. Some of these shifts may also call for travel in and out of California

Pay: $21.00 - $26.50 per hour
