TRANSPORTATION CLERICAL ASSISTANT - 238 CONTRACT DAYS
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma or equivalent, supplemented by business courses in Secretarial Science.
- Minimum of three (3) years work experience in related area.
- Must meet background clearance requirements as specified by Alabama Statutes and State Board of Education regulations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Considerable knowledge of standard office machines. Ability to keep complex records, to assemble and organize data and to prepare reports from such records. Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely, orally and in writing. Ability to operate a computer, calculator and other standard office machines. Knowledge of computers and their operation. Ability to use designated software. Ability to greet and work with parents and the public.

Transportation Supervisor
JOB GOAL
To assist with the daily operations of the transportation department.
SUPERVISES: N/A
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
* (1) Maintain daily order and efficiency in office
* (2) Maintain accurate financial records
* (3) Maintain accurate work order records
* (4) Answer telephone and direct calls to appropriate parties
* (5) Input data regarding financial and work order records
* (6) Maintain accurate filing system
* (7) Follow attendance, punctuality, and proper dress rules
* (8) Maintain confidentiality regarding school/workplace matters
* (9) Model and maintain high ethical standards
*(10) Demonstrate initiative in the performance of assigned responsibilities
*(11) Maintain expertise in assigned areas
*(12) Participate successfully in the training programs offered to increase skill and proficiency related to assignment
*(13) Keep supervisor informed of potential problems or unusual events
*(14) Respond to inquiries in a timely manner
*(15) Exhibit interpersonal skills to work as an effective team member
*(16) Demonstrate support for the school system and its goals and priorities
*(17) Demonstrate initiative in identifying potential problems or opportunities for improvement
- (18) Prepare all required reports and maintain appropriate records
*(19) Perform other tasks consistent with the goals and objectives of this position
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Heavy Work: Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Salary and benefits shall be paid consistent with the system’s approved compensation plan.
Length of the work year and hours of employment shall be those established by the system.
EVALUATION:
Performance of this job will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the Board’s policy on evaluation of personnel.
