We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Apartment Groundskeeper for one of our clients in Castle Rock CO. In this vital role, you will be responsible for maintaining the aesthetic appeal, safety, and functionality of the outdoor areas of residential apartment communities. Your expertise in landscape maintenance, horticulture, and groundskeeping will ensure that residents enjoy a clean, attractive, and well-kept environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong mechanical knowledge, landscaping skills, and experience with various tools and equipment to support the upkeep of lawns, gardens, trees, and hardscape features.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform landscape maintenance including mowing, trimming, planting, and watering to keep outdoor areas vibrant and healthy
- Manage lawn care tasks such as aeration, fertilization, and pest control to promote lush greenery
- Operate power tools and hand tools safely for planting, pruning, edging, and general groundskeeping activities
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting, repairing, and adjusting sprinklers to ensure proper watering schedules
- Conduct tree care activities including trimming, pruning, and health assessments to promote safety and growth
- Execute snow plowing and de-icing procedures during winter months to ensure safe pathways and parking areas
- Oversee hardscape features such as walkways, patios, retaining walls, and other structures to prevent damage and maintain appearance
- Utilize mechanical knowledge for equipment maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime
- Identify plants accurately for proper care and pest management; apply pesticides responsibly following safety guidelines
- Support construction or renovation projects related to landscaping or outdoor improvements as needed
Requirements
- Proven experience in landscape maintenance or groundskeeping within residential or commercial settings
- Mechanical knowledge related to power tools, irrigation systems, and landscaping equipment
- Familiarity with plant identification, horticulture practices, and garden management
- Knowledge of pesticide management procedures for safe application
- Ability to operate heavy machinery such as excavators when required for site work or landscaping projects
- Construction experience is advantageous for hardscape installation or repairs
- Strong understanding of tree care techniques including trimming and health assessment
- Ability to perform lawn care tasks such as mowing using various equipment
- Experience with snow plowing equipment and winter weather procedures
- Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail in maintaining outdoor spaces
- Physically capable of performing manual labor in various weather conditions
