Duties
- Step into classrooms on short notice, delivering engaging lessons aligned with curriculum standards and developmental goals
- Implement lesson plans provided by regular teachers or develop your own based on curriculum guidelines
- Manage classroom behavior effectively, promoting positive interactions and respectful communication among students
- Support children’s social-emotional growth through nurturing guidance and behavior management strategies
- Assist with classroom routines, including transitions, snack time, and outdoor activities
- Collaborate with staff to maintain a safe, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment
- Document student progress and communicate effectively with teachers, parents, and staff about individual needs and achievements
Requirements
- Prior experience working with children in preschool, early childhood education, or childcare settings
- Strong knowledge of childhood development principles and classroom management techniques
- Ability to adapt quickly to different classroom environments and teaching styles
- Excellent communication skills to engage with children, parents, and team members clearly and positively
- Familiarity with curriculum development, lesson planning, literacy education, math instruction, and special education strategies such as working with students with autism or in Montessori settings
- Demonstrated ability to manage behavior constructively while fostering a supportive learning atmosphere
- Relevant certifications or training in early childhood education or childcare preferred but not required
