Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Mental Health Clinician to join our dynamic behavioral health team. Duties
- Conduct thorough intake assessments and diagnostic evaluations utilizing ICD-9 and ICD-10 coding systems to ensure accurate patient records.
- Deliver individual, group, and family counseling sessions using evidence-based approaches such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, art therapy, dance therapy, and applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Implement crisis intervention strategies and crisis management protocols to support patients experiencing acute mental health episodes or trauma-related distress.
- Provide specialized counseling for diverse issues including addiction, grief, PTSD care, gender issues, chronic pain management, autism spectrum disorders, developmental disabilities, and geriatrics.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop personalized treatment plans, monitor progress through medical documentation and data collection, and adjust interventions as needed.
- Utilize telehealth platforms to expand access to mental health services while maintaining HIPAA compliance and ensuring secure medical records management.
- Engage in clinical research activities when applicable to stay current with emerging treatment modalities and contribute to the advancement of behavioral health practices.
Experience
- Proven experience in clinical counseling within outpatient or inpatient settings with a focus on behavioral health or mental health services.
- Demonstrated proficiency in psychotherapy techniques such as cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, addiction counseling, grief counseling, and trauma-informed care.
- Hands-on experience working with children, adolescents, individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD), and geriatrics is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with ICD coding (ICD-9/ICD-10) for accurate diagnosis documentation; experience with CPT coding is a plus.
- Strong background in crisis management, social work principles, behavior management strategies, and patient assessment procedures.
- Knowledge of medical terminology related to mental health conditions and experience maintaining HIPAA-compliant medical records.
- Experience working in hospital or clinic environments utilizing electronic medical records (EMR) systems; telehealth experience is preferred.
- Ability to handle complex cases involving PTSD care, chronic pain counseling, gender issues counseling, and working with individuals with disabilities or autism spectrum disorder (ASD). Education
Holds a master's degree in a field such as counseling, social work, or psychology.
