Job Summary:
The PSR Paraprofessional supports clinical programs by assisting staff and clients with daily activities to promote a positive, respectful, and therapeutic environment. This role is a hybrid of program assistance and client transportation, ensuring that individuals can safely reach the center and effectively participate in their individualized plans.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Paraprofessional Responsibilities:
Assist instructional or program staff in implementing individualized plans, activities, and goals.

Provide direct support and supervision to clients/students during classroom, program, or community activities.

Help maintain a safe, clean, and organized environment.

Support clients with personal care needs as required.

Monitor and document client behavior, progress, and participation.

Encourage positive social interaction, independence, and appropriate behavior.

Assist with setup and cleanup of activities, materials, and supplies.

- Communicate effectively with staff, families, and supervisors regarding client needs and progress.
Transportation Responsibilities:
Safely operate a company vehicle to transport clients/students to and from the center, appointments, or community activities.

Conduct and document pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.

Ensure all passengers are properly secured using safety belts, wheelchairs, or adaptive equipment.

Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and organizational transportation policies.

Maintain accurate transportation records (routes, attendance, mileage, maintenance issues).

Report any vehicle malfunctions, incidents, or safety concerns promptly.

- Provide respectful and courteous assistance to passengers at all times.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.

Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (CDL with passenger endorsement preferred, if required by program).

Experience working with individuals with disabilities, special needs, or in educational/rehabilitative settings preferred.

Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain).

Ability to lift or assist individuals as needed (up to 50 lbs).

- Strong communication, patience, and teamwork skills.
Work Environment:
Combination of classroom/program environment and vehicle operation.

May require exposure to various weather conditions during transportation duties.

Full-time $16.50-$18.00
