The Commercial HVAC Service Technician will perform a mix of routine maintenance, warranty service, and ad-hoc repairs on commercial HVAC systems, including troubleshooting and problem resolution. This position serves a range of commercial clients and may involve both scheduled maintenance and emergency service situations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain commercial HVAC equipment, including RTUs, split systems, and at times refrigeration units, following dispatch instructions and service requests.
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance and warranty service on HVAC systems, identifying issues before they escalate.
- Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair system components such as compressors, motors, pumps, pneumatic and electric valves, ductwork, and controls.
- Test electrical circuits, thermostats, and system controls to ensure safe and proper operation.
- Clean and replace filters, coils, drain lines, and other components to maintain efficient system operation.
- Respond to ad-hoc and emergency service calls, providing professional, prompt customer service and clear communication regarding diagnosis and solutions.
- Maintain accurate service records, complete required paperwork, and ensure compliance with safety and company policies.
- Manage tools, equipment, and company vehicle to maintain safety and readiness for assignments.
- Ability to successfully complete a federal criminal background check following a conditional offer of employment.
Qualifications
- Valid HVAC certification or licensure including EPA License. HVAC Journeyman License preferred.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving ability for both preventative and emergency repairs.
- Professional communication skills and a commitment to safety and customer satisfaction.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
Travel Requirements:
- Regular travel within the local service area; occasional travel for emergency or specialized jobs.
