This position is designed to support school improvement efforts connected to the buildings designation as an ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) school through the Ohio Department of Education & Workforce.The coach will work collaboratively with district and building leaders, teachers, and instructional teams to strengthen classroom instruction, support the implementation of high-quality instructional materials, and improve outcomes for students. The role will focus on building educator capacity through coaching cycles, data analysis, professional learning, modeling of effective instructional practices, and support for evidence-based interventions.The position is intended to serve as a supportive, collaborative resource to help the junior high building address identified achievement gaps, improve instructional consistency, and make progress toward exiting the ATSI designation.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Instructional Coaching and Teaching SupportSupport grades 7 and 8 teachers in strengthening instruction in mathematics and literacy, with a focus on improving student achievement, supporting curriculum implementation, and addressing the needs that contributed to the buildings ATSI designation.Provide ongoing, job-embedded coaching to grades 7-8 teachers in mathematics and literacy/English Language Arts.Facilitate coaching cycles that may include goal setting, observation, co-planning, modeling, co-teaching, reflection, and feedback.Support teachers in implementing effective instructional practices aligned to Ohios Learning Standards.Model high-quality mathematics and literacy instruction in classroom settings.Assist teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners, including students with disabilities, English learners, gifted students, and students performing below grade level.Support teachers in using formative assessment strategies to adjust instruction and improve student outcomes.Promote instructional practices that increase student engagement, academic discourse, critical thinking, and standards-based learning.ATSI and School Improvement SupportSupport building and district efforts to address the instructional needs connected to the schools ATSI (Additional Targeted Support and Improvement) designation.Collaborate with administrators, teacher teams, and district leaders to align coaching efforts with the school improvement plan.Assist in identifying priority standards, instructional gaps, and student groups in need of additional support.Help monitor progress toward improvement goals through the review of student achievement data, classroom implementation evidence, and instructional trends.Support the development and implementation of targeted strategies designed to improve outcomes for identified student groups.Participate in building-level team meetings, teacher-based team meetings, data meetings, and other school improvement structures as appropriate.Help build systems of support that contribute to sustainable improvement beyond the duration of the coaching position.Curriculum and High-Quality Instructional Materials SupportSupport the implementation of high-quality instructional materials in mathematics and literacy.Assist teachers with understanding curriculum design, lesson structure, pacin, and instructional routines.Help teachers make effective use of curriculum-embedded assessments and instructional resources.Support alignment between curriculum, standards, instruction, assessment, and intervention.Assist teachers in maintaining the integrity of adopted instructional materials while making approaching instructional adjustments based on student needs.Collaborate with district curriculum leaders to ensure consistent implementation across classrooms.Data Analysis and Instructional PlanningSupport teachers and teams in analyzing student performance data to identify strengths, gaps, and instructional priorities.Assist with use of benchmark, diagnostic, formative, summative, and state assessment data to inform instruction.Help teams develop targeted instructional plans based on student data.Support progress monitoring processes for students receiving additional intervention or support.Assist teachers in using data to group students, plan interventions, and measure the effectiveness of instructional strategies.Professional Learning and CollaborationSupport district curriculum leaders in the design and facilitation of professional learning aligned to building and district improvement priorities.Provide support during team meetings, collaborative planning sessions, and professional learning communities.Share evidence-based instructional strategies and resources with teachers and administrators.Build and maintain positive, trusting, and professional relationships with school personnel, families, and other partners.Co-create with teachers a nurturing environment that promotes learning.Serves as an active team player and maintains confidentiality.Collaborate with ESC (Educational Service Center) consultants/curriculum specialists, SST (State Support Team) consultants, and other regional partners as needed.Other Duties and ResponsibilitiesSupport Integrated-Multi-Tiered System of Supports (I-MTSS) practices related to mathematics and literacy.Help identify professional learning needs based on classroom observations and student data.Maintain documentation of coaching activities, goals, and progress.Provide updates to district leadership regarding implementation progress and areas of need.Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.Attend and actively participate in professional learning opportunities and meetings as requested.Perform all duties in conformity to the adopted vision and mission statements.Display professional appearance at all times.Maintain required certificate(s) and/or license(s).Demonstrate regular and predictable attendance.Safeguard confidentiality of privileged information.Fully understand and abide by the Ohio Revised Codes regulations for reporting child abuse and neglect.Perform other duties related to building leaders to improve student outcomes and support the schools efforts to exit ATSI designation.Demonstrate the ability to effectively use technology; interpret policies, procedures, and
