Minnesota Tile & Stone LLC, a premier dealer of tile and fabricator of stone, are looking for a skilled, detail-oriented Stone Countertop Hand Fabricator to shape, finish, and prepare natural and engineered stone countertops for installation. This role focuses on hands-on fabrication, edge detailing, cutouts, polishing, and quality checks to ensure every top meets spec and customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities
- Hand-fabricate stone countertops from templates and cut sheets (natural stone, quartz, porcelain/sintered stone as applicable).
- Perform edge profiling and finishing (e.g., eased, bevel, bullnose, ogee), including hand tools where required.
- · Complete sink, cooktop, and fixture cutouts; drill holes; fit seams; and verify dimensions and reveals.
- · Polish edges and surfaces; perform touch-ups, chip repair, and finish blending as needed.
- · Set up and use fabrication tools and equipment safely (hand tools, polishers, grinders, routers, pneumatic tools, seam setters, lifts).
- · Inspect material for defects, confirm vein direction and layout, and document any concerns before fabrication.
- · Maintain quality standards, measure frequently, and verify final product matches drawings and tolerances.
- · Support shop organization: keep work area clean, maintain consumables, and help with basic equipment upkeep.
- · Work with team members in the shop and coordinate with templating/installation teams to resolve field-fit issues.
- · Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and material-handling practices.
Required Qualifications
- · 1+ years of hands-on stone countertop fabrication experience or comparable experience in a related trade (stone, solid surface, woodworking/cabinetry, metal fabrication) with willingness to learn.
- · Ability to read templates, drawings, and cut sheets; strong measuring and layout skills.
- · Experience with hand fabrication processes (edge work, polishing, cutouts, seam fitting).
- · Experience with all stone countertop materials including Granite, quartz, porcelain, quartzite, marble etc.
- · Knowledge of common sink mounting methods (undermount, top-mount, farmhouse) and support requirements.
- · Comfortable using hand/power tools and shop equipment safely.
- · Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- · Stone repair skills (epoxy, tinting, seam polishing, chip repair).
- · Reliable attendance and ability to work as part of a team.
Preferred Skills
- · Ability to safely operate shop saws and machines (as applicable) and assist with machine setup.
- · Forklift/overhead crane/gantry experience and safe slab handling practices.
- · Spanish/English bilingual communication.
- · Valid driver’s license (if required for occasional jobsite support).
Physical Requirements & Work Environment
- · Ability to lift and maneuver heavy materials with assistance and proper equipment (stone is heavy; team lifts and mechanical aids are used).
- · Comfortable standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and performing repetitive motions.
- · Ability to work in a shop environment with dust, noise, water, and wet surfaces; must wear required PPE (eye/ear protection, gloves, respirator as needed).
- · Ability to work safely around moving equipment and suspended loads.

- · Shift: Monday–Friday, 6:00am–2:30pm.
- · Status: Full-time, Monday-Friday, (overtime as needed)
