Duties
- Assist healthcare providers during patient examinations and procedures, ensuring comfort and safety.
- Prepare examination rooms with necessary supplies.
- Take vital signs, record medical histories, and document patient information accurately in Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems.
- Apply casts and splints and perform x-rays under the direction of healthcare providers.
- Perform triage assessments to prioritize patient care based on urgency and symptoms.
- Administer first aid, CPR, and basic life support when necessary, responding swiftly to emergency situations.
- Educate patients on injury prevention and treatment plans while maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Manage medical records and documentation diligently, ensuring accuracy and compliance with healthcare standards.
Requirements
- Experience with EMR/EHR management systems and medical software applications.
- Certification in first aid, CPR, and basic life support (BLS).
- Knowledge of health regulation policies, HIPAA compliance, and medical documentation standards.
- Strong understanding of physiology, anatomy, nursing principles, and medical terminology.
- Experience in orthopedics and sports medicine environments is highly desirable.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.
- Excellent communication skills paired with a proactive attitude toward patient care and team collaboration.
