Responsibilities
- Assist with animal restraint during examinations, treatments, and procedures to ensure safety for both animals and staff
- Perform animal husbandry duties including feeding, bathing, grooming, and maintaining cleanliness of kennels and treatment areas
- Support veterinary critical care by monitoring hospitalized animals, administering medications under supervision, and recording vital signs accurately
- Conduct laboratory procedures such as sample collection, processing tests, and maintaining lab equipment in compliance with safety standards
- Handle dog training and pet grooming tasks to promote well-being and comfort of animals in our care
- Maintain accurate medical records using veterinary software while adhering to Veterinary Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) regulations and USDA guidelines
- Communicate effectively with clients regarding pet care instructions, treatment plans, and clinic policies
Requirements
- Previous experience in veterinary clinics or animal handling environments is highly preferred
- Knowledge of animal anatomy, veterinary terminology, aseptic techniques, and laboratory procedures
- Hands-on experience with medical collection techniques including blood draws and catheterizations
- Kennel experience along with dog handling skills to manage diverse breeds safely and confidently
- Familiarity with veterinary software systems such as PetVet or AVImark; proficiency in Microsoft Office is a plus
- Strong understanding of animal restraint techniques for safe examination and treatment procedures
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced setting while maintaining attention to detail and compassion for animals
- Excellent customer service skills to communicate clearly with pet owners and team members while supporting front desk operations
