OVERVIEW
We are seeking a dedicated and hardworking Warehouse Picker (AM Shift) to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our warehouse operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and safely. This position requires a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. As a Warehouse Picker (AM Shift), you will be responsible for various tasks related to heavy equipment operation, shipping and receiving, and overall warehouse management.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
- Repacking
- Sorting
- Label products and returns products to storage.
- Pull orders of merchandise for next-day delivery.
- Assist shipping and receiving, unloading trucks, checking in merchandise, matching purchase orders to sales orders.
- Move materials and items from receiving or storage areas to shipping or to other designated areas.
- Assemble customer orders from stock and place orders on pallets or shelves or relocate orders to a holding area or shipping department
- Mark materials with identifying information using appropriate methods.
- Assist in counting inventory.
- Shuttling product from staging area to assigned location/bin.
- Unloading and loading shipments and placing them in assigned locations throughout Tapia warehouse.
- Assist in loading and unloading all products from vehicles into pallets.
- Inform supervisor of any difference in quantity, product description, damaged product, and incomplete orders.
- Pre-shift checks of equipment (visually and operationally).
- Locate items in the warehouse, gather completed orders, and stage them in the proper area for the product to be reviewed by the checker.
- Inspect all products, identify damage, dents and blemishes on all orders.
- Facilitate strategies to complete all deliveries accurately and efficiently.
- Correctly label the product so that the label can be seen on the outside of the pallet.
- Breakdown and restack merchandise on pallets during audits.
- Must be able to add and subtract.
- Ensure the warehouse is accessible and safe for salespeople, vendors, and customer traffic.
- Inform the supervisor of any merchandise that needs to be subbed out due to the item being out of stock.
- May be assigned facilities maintenance duties as needed.
- Sweep, dust, mop. Always organize the warehouse and work area for orderliness.
- Wear the proper safety equipment. Steel Toe Shoes are required.
- Assist in other Departments (As Needed)
Requirements
- Able to read, write, and solve math problems
- Forklift experience
- One (1) year warehouse experience.
- Proven experience in heavy equipment operation is preferred.
- Familiarity with shipping and receiving processes is a plus.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
- Experience using pallet jacks, forklifts, or similar equipment is desirable.
- Mechanical knowledge related to warehouse operations is an advantage.
- Proficiency in using Powered Industrial Tools is beneficial.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to adapt to changing priorities.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $19.00 - $22.00 per hour
