Job Description:
Process Technicians are responsible for safely performing production and material handling activities in an industrial manufacturing environment. Successful candidates are safety-focused, detail-oriented, mechanically inclined, and capable of performing physically demanding work while wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE) including a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR). Process Technicians routinely work in hot environments with hazardous chemicals around industrial equipment.
Responsibilities
· Safely operate forklifts, industrial equipment, and material handling systems.
· Must be able to lift 50 pounds and load, unload, transport, and stage 55-gallon drums using a forklift.
· Accurately weigh materials and products using industrial scales.
· Unbolt and bolt fasteners as part of equipment operation, maintenance, and changeover activities.
· Follow strict standard operating procedures (SOPs), work instructions, safety requirements, and quality requirements. Must be able to wear necessary personal protective equipment.
· Maintain superior housekeeping in chemical areas. Ensure proper location of chemicals.
· Complete production documentation, batch records, inspections and logbooks accurately and legibly.
· Identify, report, and address safety hazards, process deviations, and operational issues.
· Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and safety programs.
Required Qualifications
· High school diploma or equivalent.
· Forklift certification or ability to obtain certification upon hire.
· Demonstrated commitment to safe work practices and a strong safety record.
· Ability to operate industrial equipment in a manufacturing or production environment.
· Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written procedures.
· Basic mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools.
· Ability to accurately complete required documentation and production records.
· Willingness and ability to work night shifts, weekends, overtime, and rotating schedules as required.
· Ability to perform physical work for extended periods.
· Ability to wear required PPE, including a Powered Air Purifying Respirator (PAPR), safety glasses, gloves, hearing protection, and protective clothing.
· Ability to work safely in hot environments and varying production conditions.
· Ability to work around moving machinery and industrial equipment.
· Must complete company safety training program and submit to regular blood tests.
Preferred Qualifications
· Background in chemical processing or other process operation experience
· Welding experience
· Knowledge of safe chemical handling and storage
· 40-Hour Hazwoper Certification
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to US controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the US Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the US Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a US citizen, a US National, a lawful permanent resident of the US, a Person Admitted into the US as an Asylee or Refugee, a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to US controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on SaltGen’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with SaltGen’s business requirements.
Pay: $23.00 - $36.00 per hour
