Job Summary
We are a growing local cartage company seeking a dynamic Terminal Manager to lead and oversee all operations within our logistics terminal. This pivotal role involves managing transportation, warehouse, and distribution activities to ensure seamless execution. The ideal candidate will drive process improvement initiatives and lead a team of drivers and operational staff to achieve excellence in service delivery. As a key leader, you will be responsible for maintaining safety standards, controlling costs, and enhancing overall operational efficiency to support the company's growth objectives.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily terminal operations including freight handling, shipping & receiving, warehouse distribution, and fleet management to ensure efficient workflow.
- Lead process improvement initiatives utilizing continuous improvement strategies to optimize productivity and reduce waste.
- Manage the routing of daily truck routes and ensure effective dispatching to achieve service standards.
- Supervise drivers, warehouse staff and support staff, fostering a safety-conscious environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory standards.
- Utilize transportation management systems (TMS) and supply chain analytics tools to monitor performance metrics and identify opportunities for operational enhancements.
Experience
- Proven experience in operations management within logistics or local trucking with supervisory responsibilities.
- Demonstrated experience with local freight routing and dispatching.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Supervising experience in a warehouse or trucking environment is essential; experience with forklift operation is preferred.
- Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams while maintaining high safety standards and operational efficiency.
- Experience with Microsoft Office products.
Pay: $75,000.00 - $85,000.00 per year
