Duties
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics on automotive and heavy equipment using schematics and advanced testing tools to identify issues accurately.
- Conduct repairs on transmissions, brakes, suspensions, shocks & struts, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and other mechanical components.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, soldering techniques, and fabrication skills to repair and assemble parts.
- Maintain and service a variety of machinery including farm equipment, industrial machinery, excavators, cranes, forklifts, tractor-trailers, and more.
- Conduct routine vehicle maintenance such as tire service, wheel alignments, air brake inspections, and fluid replacements to ensure optimal performance.
- Interpret schematics and technical manuals for precise repairs; troubleshoot electrical systems and perform electrical repairs as needed.
- Assist with heavy lifting tasks safely using appropriate equipment like cranes or forklifts; perform welding and fabrication work when necessary.
Skills
- Proven dealership or automotive repair experience with strong mechanical knowledge across various vehicle types.
- Proficiency in heavy equipment operation including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and tractor-trailers.
- Skilled in automotive diagnostics with expertise in transmissions, air brakes, hydraulics, suspension systems, HVAC systems, and diesel engine repair.
- Ability to read and interpret schematics; familiarity with electrical systems; soldering skills are a plus.
- Experience with fabrication techniques such as welding and assembly of parts; comfortable using power tools for repairs.
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate technical information clearly to clients or team members.
