Duties
- Prepare ingredients and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently, including ovens, grills, fryers, and food processors
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and cooking areas in compliance with food safety standards
- Assist in meal preparation for daily service as well as special catering events
- Follow proper food handling procedures to ensure safety and hygiene at all times
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to coordinate meal production and ensure timely service
- Adhere strictly to recipe specifications and portion control to maintain consistency across all dishes
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or restaurant settings with a strong understanding of kitchen operations
- Knowledge of safety standards in food production and food handling practices
- Skilled in using various kitchen equipment safely and effectively
- Excellent knife skills with proficiency in slicing techniques for efficient prep work
- Ability to follow detailed recipes accurately while maintaining high-quality standards
- Strong communication skills to coordinate seamlessly with team members in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with dietary department procedures or dietary aide responsibilities is a plus
- Familiarity with menu planning, food industry trends, and catering operations enhances your versatility in the role
Pay: $21.00 - $25.00 per hour
