HEAVY EQUIPMENT OPERATOR II - LANDFILL
Minimum Level Salary: $32,331
Maximum Salary: $56,579
FUNCTION
Under general supervision, is responsible for operating heavy equipment in performing duties to load, haul, and move materials, and maintain the site. Reports to the Landfill Supervisor. Must be able to work on Saturdays when scheduled.
EXAMPLES OF WORK PERFORMED
Performs minor maintenance on equipment.
Checks all fluid levels to assure equipment is operational.
Performs routine duties in maintaining the landfill as assigned.
PREFERRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Must be able to operate a multitude of heavy equipment to include but not limited to: loaders, dozier, back hoe, bulldozier, compactor, etc.
Ability to perform manual labor such as lifting, and handling of
equipment and supplies.
Ability to exert up to seventy-five pounds of force.
Must be able to lift/carry up to fifty pounds.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Ability to learn to operate different types of light and heavy equipment.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
High School graduate or equivalent with one to two years experience in heavy equipment operation.
Valid South Carolina drivers license.
