As a Maintenance Supervisor at Western States, you will lead a dedicated team to maximize production uptime through proactive maintenance, swift troubleshooting, and emergency repairs. In conjunction with the Plant Manager, coordinates maintenance tasks and directs the maintenance team.

Coaches, trains, and develops maintenance team members
-
Works to maintain and continuously update preventative maintenance and repair records.

Provides corrective action to maintenance team members as needed.

Diagnoses, repairs, and fabricates machinery in a timely, efficient, and accurate manner, ensuring minimal impact on production schedules.

Scope and plans repair procedures, tools, and safety measures in advance of beginning a job.

Fabricates parts and performs skilled fitting and alignment using precision measuring instruments for exacting technical measurements.

Expedites repairs for unscheduled maintenance jobs using the most efficient and timely procedures.

Works confidently from technical drawings, schematic specifications, and job layouts provided by the Supervisor

Identifies, sources, and orders replacement parts as needed.

Safely perform specialized maintenance tasks, including but not limited to:
-
Electrical troubleshooting, repair, installation, and maintenance, including PLCs and controllers.

Welding and millwright work
-
Pneumatic, hydraulic, and vacuum mechanical troubleshooting

Plumbing repair and installation
-
Metalworking and woodworking duties
-
Handles general structural repairs, including carpentry, painting, and occasional janitorial or facility upkeep tasks as required.

Assist with the installation, assembly, movement, or disassembly of heavy plant machinery.

Contribute to the general cleanliness, safety, and organization of the maintenance department and tooling areas.

Perform all duties in a safe, ergonomically correct manner, adhering to all workplace safety guidelines (OSHA, LOTO, etc.)

5-10 Years of Maintenance Supervisory / Management Experience
-
Maintenance/Mechanical experience in a production environment is preferred.

Operating material handling equipment (Forklifts, Reach Trucks, etc.) is preferred.

Ability to identify and resolve mechanical and technical issues promptly. Gathers and analyzes operational data skillfully, develops alternative solutions, and demonstrates meticulous attention to detail.

Basic math and measurement skills.

Responds promptly to internal departmental requests for service and assistance; meets project commitments.

Stamina & Mobility: Ability to stand and walk on concrete surfaces for the duration of a scheduled shift (8–12 hours). Must be able to frequently bend, reach, crouch, or stoop.

Weight Requirements: Ability to lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally from floor to waist and waist to shoulder.

Manual Dexterity: Constant repetitive grasping and fine motor manipulation of paper materials and machine components.

Range of Motion: Frequent twisting of the torso and lifting above shoulder height.

Sensory/Vision: Must possess tactile/touch sensitivity in hands and digits. Near and far visual acuity, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are required for quality control and safe machine operation.

Work Environment: Ability to perform these functions in a manufacturing environment that may include high noise levels, varying temperatures, and paper dust.
