GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
The Wyoming Department of Agriculture, Administrative Division, is searching for an Accountant in our Cheyenne office. The successful candidate processes fiscal documents on the State's WOLFS system for the Department, works closely with Department staff, vendors, and other state agencies to ensure compliance with the State of Wyoming's accounting practices by auditing documents for accuracy and providing guidance on proper reporting for fiscal documents. Responsible for accounts receivable for the department. Prepares accounting reports and information requests; responsible for agency inventory.

Processes documents on the WOLFS system for Department accounts payable and accounts receivable.
Ensures compliance with procurement requirements for the Department.
Works with internal and external stakeholders.
Researches and analyzes data and prepares reports.
Maintains petty cash fund per established policy and procedures.
Maintains fixed assets on WOLFS
Prepares, analyzes, and interprets fiscal information.
PREFERENCES:
Preference may be given to candidates with working knowledge in the Wyoming Online Financial System (WOLFS)
KNOWLEDGE:

Working knowledge of accepted accounting and auditing practices.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
Bachelor's Degree (typically in Finance)
Experience:
0-1 year of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician
OR
Education & Experience Substitution:
3-4 years of progressive work experience (typically in Finance) with acquired knowledge at the level of an Accounting Technician
