The Arthur Project (TAP) is a youth mentoring organization that partners with middle schools to provide relationship-based, therapeutic mentoring that promotes healing, belonging, academic success, and long-term opportunity.

Position Summary
The Senior Clinician provides clinical leadership for The Arthur Project's school-based mental health clinic at Bronx Debate Academy (MS 644). This position combines direct clinical practice, clinical supervision, partnership management, and program oversight to ensure high-quality mental health services for students and families.
The Senior Clinician serves as the lead clinical presence on-site, managing complex and emergent clinical situations, maintaining a direct service caseload, supervising social work interns, and strengthening partnerships with school and community stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
Clinical Leadership & Operational Oversight
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the school-based mental health clinic
- Manage emergent and crisis-related clinical situations and coordinate appropriate interventions.
- Ensure services are delivered in accordance with agency standards, ethical guidelines, and regulatory requirements.
- Support implementation of trauma-informed, culturally responsive, and evidence-based practices.
Direct Clinical Services
- Maintain a caseload of approximately 15 students and families.
- Provide individual, family, and group-based therapeutic services.
- Conduct assessments, treatment planning, progress monitoring, and clinical documentation.
- Collaborate with caregivers, school staff, and external providers to coordinate care and support student success.
Partnership Coordination
- Develop and maintain strong working relationships with school leadership and staff.
- Coordinate partnerships with middle school stakeholders and community mental health resources.
- Represent The Arthur Project in school-based meetings and collaborative planning efforts.
- Facilitate communication between students, families, schools, and community partners.
Practicum Instruction & Clinical Supervision
- Serve as Practicum Instructor for 3–5 social work students.
- Provide weekly individual supervision to clinic interns and therapeutic mentoring interns.
- Support intern professional development through coaching, feedback, and evaluation.
- Ensure internship experiences align with agency expectations and educational requirements.
Qualifications
Required
- New York State LMSW
- SIFI (Seminar in Field Instruction) certification required
- Bilingual English/Spanish required
- Significant clinical experience working with children, adolescents, and families
- Experience providing individual, family, and group therapy
- Experience supervising social work students or early-career clinicians
- Strong crisis intervention, assessment, and care coordination skills
Preferred
- Experience working in school-based mental health settings
- Knowledge of NYC public school systems and community resources
- Experience supporting culturally diverse and historically underserved communities
- Familiarity with trauma-informed and healing-centered practices
