Washington Vascular Specialists is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and highly skilled Registered Nurse (RN) to join our growing Office-Based Laboratory (OBL) and Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) team. This position provides the opportunity to work alongside nationally recognized vascular specialists in a fast-paced outpatient procedural environment delivering exceptional patient care before, during, and after minimally invasive vascular procedures.

Position Summary
The Registered Nurse is responsible for delivering comprehensive nursing care throughout the entire patient experience, including pre-operative assessment, intra-procedural monitoring, post-anesthesia recovery, patient education, and discharge planning. The RN plays a critical role in maintaining patient safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and supporting physicians during vascular and endovascular procedures.
This position requires flexibility to provide clinical coverage at multiple Washington Vascular Specialists locations as needed.
Essential Responsibilities Pré-Procedure Care
· Complete comprehensive patient assessments.
· Review medical history, medications, laboratory results, and physician orders.
· Verify patient identity, informed consent, and procedure readiness.
· Establish IV access and prepare patients for procedures.
· Educate patients regarding upcoming procedures and expectations.
Procedural Nursing
· Assist physicians during vascular and endovascular procedures.
· Continuously monitor cardiac rhythm, oxygen saturation, vital signs, and patient status.
· Administer medications, IV fluids, and moderate sedation within scope of practice.
· Recognize and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
· Maintain accurate clinical documentation throughout procedures.
Recovery & Post-Procedure Care
· Monitor patients during recovery.
· Assess vascular access sites and recovery status.
· Implement physician orders and recovery protocols.
· Provide discharge education and medication instructions.
· Ensure patients safely meet discharge criteria.
Patient Safety & Emergency Response
· Respond to medical emergencies utilizing BLS and ACLS protocols.
· Participate in emergency preparedness and quality improvement initiatives.
· Promote infection prevention and sterile technique.
· Maintain compliance with all clinical and regulatory standards.
Clinical Documentation
· Document nursing assessments, medications, interventions, and patient outcomes accurately.
· Maintain HIPAA compliance and patient confidentiality.
· Complete documentation within established organizational standards.
Multi-Site Clinical Support
· Travel between Washington Vascular Specialists’ outpatient procedural centers as operational needs require.
· Support patient care and clinical operations across multiple locations.
Qualifications
Required
· Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Maryland (Virginia license preferred or ability to obtain).
· Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
· Minimum of 2 years of RN experience in one or more of the following:
o Cath Lab
o Interventional Radiology
o Vascular Surgery
o Operating Room
o PACU
o Emergency Department
o Critical Care/ICU
· Strong IV insertion and patient assessment skills.
· Excellent communication and critical-thinking abilities.
· Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced outpatient procedural environment.
Preferred
· Previous Office-Based Lab (OBL) or Ambulatory Surgery Center (ASC) experience.
· Experience with conscious/moderate sedation.
· Experience assisting with vascular or endovascular procedures.
· Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience.
