The Humbert House is looking for a dishwasher/ Salad Station member to join their kitchen team. The Dishwasher / Salad Station position is responsible for maintaining a clean, sanitary kitchen while assisting with the preparation of fresh salads and cold food items. This role supports kitchen operations by ensuring dishes, utensils, and food preparation areas meet health and safety standards. Availability for this position is Tuesday-Saturday from 3 PM- 10 PM during hours of operation.
Key ResponsibilitiesDishwasher Duties
- Wash, rinse, and sanitize dishes, pots, pans, utensils, trays, and kitchen equipment.
- Operate commercial dishwashing machines safely and efficiently.
- Organize and store clean kitchen equipment in designated areas.
- Empty garbage and recycling bins and replace liners.
- Sweep, mop, and sanitize kitchen floors and work areas.
- Clean sinks, drains, dishwashing stations, and food preparation surfaces.
- Restock cleaning supplies and report equipment issues to supervisors.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and workplace health regulations.
Salad Station Duties
- Prepare fresh salads, fruits, vegetables, and cold appetizers according to recipes.
- Wash, peel, chop, slice, and portion vegetables and fruits.
- Maintain proper food temperatures and storage practices.
- Label and date prepared food items.
- Refill salad ingredients during meal service.
- Ensure presentation and portion sizes meet quality standards.
- Assist with basic food preparation for other kitchen stations as needed.

- Ability to safely operate commercial dishwashing equipment.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous restaurant, cafeteria, or food service experience is an asset but not always required.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset (may be required depending on local regulations).
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
