We are seeking a reliable and experienced Transport Driver to join our logistics team. This role involves operating various types of commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, to ensure timely and safe delivery of freight across designated locations. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of DOT regulations. Candidates with experience in refrigerated trailer operation, over-the-road (OTR) routes, and truck loading/unloading are highly preferred. - Home every night
- Paid weekly (by the load)
- Mostly short hauling to storage facilities (Madison, MS and Purvis, MS )
- Forklifts and electric pallet jacks to unload.
Duties
- Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, and pick-up trucks, adhering to FMCSA and DOT regulations.
- Load and unload cargo efficiently while following proper manual handling procedures and cargo handling protocols.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to verify vehicle safety and readiness for operation.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and vehicle maintenance reports in accordance with FMCSA regulations.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or route adjustments.
- Follow all safety procedures related to hazardous materials, truck loading/unloading, and vehicle operation.
- Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and operational condition of the vehicle fleet.
Skills
- Proven experience in commercial truck driving.
- Knowledge of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) standards.
- Ability to operate refrigerated trailers, flatbeds, or other specialized equipment as needed.
- Proficiency with GPS navigation systems for efficient route planning on OTR routes.
- Skilled in manual transmission driving and manual handling techniques for cargo management.
- Strong understanding of logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading processes, and freight safety protocols.
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL)
- Excellent driving record with a focus on safety and compliance with all federal and state transportation laws.
- Ability to manage long hours on the road while maintaining alertness and professionalism during deliveries.
This role is vital for ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of goods across various routes while adhering to all regulatory standards governing commercial trucking operations.
Pay: $500.00 - $1,500.00 per week
