Position Summary
Solar Installers work as part of a small, highly skilled team to install residential and commercial solar photovoltaic (PV) systems. Team members assist the Crew Leader in safely and efficiently installing all aspects of each system, including racking, solar panels, wiring, inverters, and related electrical equipment.
This role is ideal for individuals who enjoy hands-on work, solving problems, working outdoors, and contributing to America's clean energy future.
Key Responsibilities
- Receive and verify project materials and inventory
- Assemble and install solar racking and mounting systems
- Install solar panels and electrical equipment
- Perform AC and DC electrical wiring
- Follow all company safety procedures and quality standards
- Complete project documentation accurately
- Maintain clean, organized job sites
- Participate in ongoing training programs
- Support additional project tasks as needed
Qualifications
Required
- Minimum 1 year of construction experience
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid, unrestricted driver's license
- Ability to routinely lift 50 pounds
- Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Comfortable climbing ladders and working on rooftops
- Ability to stand and work on your feet for extended periods
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Willingness to travel for occasional out-of-town projects
Preferred
- Solar installation experience
- Electrical experience
- Roofing or construction trade experience
- NABCEP certification
- Journeyman or Master Electrician credentials
