Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated Health Insurance Sales Agent to connect with warm leads, educate prospects on Medicare and related insurance products, and guide them through the enrollment process. (Candidate with a desirable skill set will be supported through the State licensing process.)The successful candidate will conduct outbound outreach, manage client communications across multiple channels, maintain accurate CRM records, and identify opportunities to expand client relationships through additional coverage solutions. This role is focused on achieving sales goals while delivering exceptional customer service and support to both prospective and existing clients. Candidates must maintain compliance with Medicare regulations, stay current on industry changes, and represent the company with professionalism and integrity.
Responsibilities
- Present Medicare products to potential prospects, including Medicare Advantage, Medicare Supplements, and Ancillary products (e.g., Cancer, Heart & Stroke, Hospital Indemnity, Recovery Care).
- Educate prospects on the differences between Medicare products, ensuring they understand their options and how each product fits their needs.
- Make outbound calls with a strong focus on closing leads and nurturing client relationships. These are outbound calls to warm leads – people who have already expressed interest.
- Set and manage appointments.
- Maintain CRM records: Accurately document client interactions, updates, and sales pipeline progress in the CRM system to ensure seamless tracking and reporting.
- Identify cross-selling opportunities to offer additional insurance products, such as life insurance, annuities, or other financial solutions.
- Handle inbound inquiries across phone, text and email.
- Assist existing clients with policy updates, renewals, and cross-sell opportunities when appropriate.
- Meet or exceed sales targets and performance metrics.
- Adhere to compliance standards: Ensure all sales activities comply with Medicare guidelines and regulations, including obtaining and maintaining proper certifications and licensing.
- Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data privacy regulations.
- Stay informed about market trends: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, competitor offerings, and Medicare policy changes to provide the best solutions to clients.
- Collaborate with team members: Share best practices and work together to improve processes and achieve team goals.
- Represent the company professionally: Maintain a high level of professionalism in all interactions, both internally and externally.
Qualifications
- An Active Health & Life Insurance License and have passed the AHIP certification prior to start date. (Required) Associated fees will be reimbursed by the Agency upon successful and timely completion.
- Commitment to obtain Medicare-related carrier appointments within 4 weeks of hire. (Required to maintain this position; timeline and required licenses will be provided)
- Proven sales experience with a demonstrated ability to build rapport, overcome objections, and close sales.
- Strong customer-focused mindset with a passion for helping clients understand their coverage options and make informed decisions.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and confidently.
- Comfortable with outbound and inbound client interactions in a fast-paced, performance-driven environment.
- Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with a strong work ethic and commitment to achieving individual and team objectives.
- Ability to build and maintain long-term client relationships through trust, professionalism, and follow-through.
- Adaptable and coachable, with the ability to embrace feedback, learn new skills, and respond to changing regulations and processes.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to effectively manage multiple prospects, clients, and priorities.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, CRM systems, and digital communication tools, along with the ability to quickly learn new technology.
- Attention to detail and commitment to compliance, ensuring accurate documentation and adherence to Medicare and insurance regulations.
- Bilingual skills are a plus.
- Must have access to reliable personal transportation to commute to and from the office and to travel to off-site locations.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 25 pounds as part of routine duties, such as bringing supplies to events and for community outreach.
