Community Builders Childcare is looking for a caring, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher to join our team! This position is perfect for someone who enjoys working with children and wants to help create a safe, fun, and supportive learning environment.
Responsibilities
- Assist the Lead Teacher with daily classroom activities and routines
- Supervise children and maintain required teacher-to-child ratios
- Engage children through play, art, music, reading, and age-appropriate learning activities
- Help with meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, and classroom transitions
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
- Communicate positively and professionally with families and coworkers
- Document meals, naps, diaper changes, and activities in our childcare app
- Follow all center policies and Wisconsin childcare licensing requirements
- Complete required training and continuing education
- Provide support in other classrooms when needed
Qualifications
- Must be at least 16 years old
- Previous childcare experience is preferred but not required
- Must be dependable, patient, and comfortable working as part of a team
- Must be able to pass a background check
- Must be willing to complete required childcare training
- CPR and First Aid certification is preferred but can be completed after hiring
- Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds and participate in activities on the floor
